The other day we went to Lowes to buy a lawn mower. As we walked out of the store we noticed a sign that said, "saturday, Saturday, SATURDAY.....MONSTER TRUCK SATURDAY!" featuring a fun building project for kids. In a house full of girls, this manly project called out my name. Oh baby...I needed to sign up my 4 girls to build....MONSTER TRUCKS.
We arrived at the store at 10 AM Saturday morning all decked out with pink pony tails and red finger nail polish. The girls quickly strapped on their Lowes building aprons, grabbed their miniature hammers, and began building their wooden trucks. We ran into Lori Chamblerlain (Brent's daughter who now lives in St. George) and used the same work table as her family.
After a noisy 25 minutes of 50 kids pounding away with their hammers, our monster trucks were built. The building kits even came with paper cars that the trucks could '
crush'.
The kids enjoyed putting stickers on their completed trucks and even received a cool certificate that stated they were, "Certified Monster Truck Builders" as well as a free frosty at Wendy's. The girls had a blast and thanks to Lowes I received a nice dose of masculinity for a change.

How fun! What a fun and different activity for your girls to enjoy. Their looks on their faces say it all...and the frostys were an added bonus! Can't wait to see you guys this weekend.

Such a great post Ry! I was giggling!! Hey, and it's such a cool idea to take your girls to do this. I bet you saw lots of kids there too. OK....and you NEED to call us for the next build-it projects!! We all would love it!! And...then we could all run over to Costco and eat "dinner" (ie: free food from the food stands all over the store isles). haha! I love your little secret that you let us in on about that!!
What a fun dad! I bet your girls loved doing that with you--it sure looks like they did! Some of my favorite memories are growing up on my dad's lap, watching football and basketball. Hardly your typical girl's activity :-)
That looked like so much fun! Maybe you can get them some tools for Christmas and keep the masculinity going strong!
What great fun and I bet your girls will continue loving all the things that Dad does! It is great to expose them to all these "manly" things, and some day their husbands will thank you. Klane loves that Angie can keep up with his activities and loves them!
Your girls are adorable, and growing up I might add. You are an awesome family!
